OR NQ - ORientation search - 2D, rotation & shift, uses polar coords. ||

(6/04/08)

PURPOSE

Determines rotational and translational orientation between two images after resampling into polar coordinates. This is the same as: 'AP SH' except it only acts on a single pair of images. (See align_overview.html for comparison of 'AP' and 'OR' operations.)
OBSOLETE! USE 'OR SH' INSTEAD!

USAGE

.OPERATION: OR NQ [v1],[v2],[v3],[v4],[v5]

[The output registers will contain:
[v1] - rotation angle,
[v2] - X shift,
[v3] - Y shift,
[v4] - always zero
[v5] - not-normalized correlation coefficient.
This is the only output from the operation]

.REFERENCE FILE: REF002
[Enter the name of the file containing the reference image; dimensions must be same as input image.]

.TRANSLATION SEARCH RANGE, STEP SIZE: 6, 2
[The search for translation parameters will be restricted to +/- search range, performed every "step size" pixels.
Restrictions:
1. Search range + last ring <=NX/2-2
2. Search range has to be divisible by step size.]

.FIRST AND LAST RING: 2, 15
[Only rings with radii in the range 2-15 will be analyzed for rotational alignment.]

.EXPERIMENTAL INPUT FILE: UUU001
[Enter name of the file.]

NOTES

  1. This command employs the same method as 'AP SH'. For details see:
